Key Responsibilities:
1.Protein Design:
– Retrieve and assemble data from various protein information databases.
– Select design strategies and tools for in silico protein design and validation.
– Proficient in using cutting-edge protein design tools, including AlphaFold2, OpenFold, ESM, ProteinMPNN, RF Diffusion, Genie, and different protein language models.
– Experienced in setting up automated pipelines for in silico validation of protein designs.
– Skilled in experimental validation workflows, from high-throughput cloning and expression to purification and biophysical characterization.
2.Cryo-Electron Microscopy:
– Expertise in cryo-EM sample preparation and data collection using EPU or SerialEM.
– Proficient in cryo-EM data processing with tools like Relion, Scipion, and other open-source software.
3.Research and Innovation:
– Stay at the forefront of advancements in protein design, expression, purification, and structural biology.
– Lead innovative research projects to enhance PUXANO’s capabilities.
– Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
4.Collaboration and Communication:
– Collaborate with internal teams and external partners in Pharma and Biotech.
– Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
– Contribute to grant writing and funding proposals for ongoing research initiatives.
Qualifications:
– Ph.D. in Structural Biology, computational Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
– Extensive experience in protein design and engineering coupled to experimental validation using cryoEM.
– Proven expertise in protein purification and analysis using techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, IMAC, SEC, BLI and MALLS.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and a track record of innovative research.
– Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Previous experience in the Pharma or Biotech industry.
